4-6This Hellebore is an ‘ice rose’ variety created by a Japanese breeder called Dosenbo.
It is a crossbreed with the original Niger variety, so it starts to flower around Christmas.

It is very popular in Japan because it blooms a lot and is hardy.
7-8It is a hybrid cross between the original Nigel species. Hellebores which bloom at this time of year are conspicuous because there are few other flowers.
9-10Many people may know Snowdrop Galanthus elwesii as it is native to Europe.
Its depressed, reserved blooms are exceptionally attractive to people.
This flower is planted in the same area as Hellebores. It is a good reference for garden design.
In Japan, camellia flowers bloom in winter.
Since ancient times, camellias have often been used for hedges.
